Exam soon!

My exam for the psychology course I'm doing at the moment is one week from tomorrow - Monday 13th October! *bites nails* I have conflicting feelings about it because I'm dreading it, but at the same time, I can't wait to get it over and done with! I've been revising hard the last couple of weeks and I think it's going fairly well, but I am also rather worried. I don't think the exam's going to be easy. At all. I'm just going to get as much revision done as I can this week, try and encode the information into my memory somehow and cross my fingers!

Oh yes, I got my new car about three weeks ago and it's great. :D I love it! Here's a photo:

It's a wonderful little car... feels like complete luxury compared to my old one. I'm still sometimes forgetting that I have central locking and have been looking for the keyhole in the door! The air con is great too, now it's getting colder. I adore the colour - definitely think I made the right choice. :D It's quite nippy at getting away and speeding up as well. Brilliant car. :)

Getting a new car!

I'm buying a new car - a Smart car! There's quite a long waiting list because they're in high demand at the moment, but I should get mine early September. I'm very excited about it. :D I've been thinking about getting a new car for a while now and after a lot of extensive research into just about every small car you can imagine, I thought the Smart sounded best suited to my needs. I enjoyed the test drive, so decided to go with it. I only really use my car for driving to and from work and for errands, so I don't really need more than two seats. Plus, the Smart is very economical and is in the lowest tax band, so I will save a lot of money. With a tank of petrol now costing me £50 (I only have a 40 litre tank), I need to think carefully about the cost there. Plus, I'm all for helping the environment in any way I can. I also want to "update" my car because my current car doesn't have very many features... not even a CD player or remote locking.

I've decided to go with the Passion model, so that I can have the air con and nicer interior cloth, among other things. I'm getting it in yellow to really stand out. :D In the meantime, I'm preparing my current car for sale, making sure it is as good as possible. I'll be getting it serviced soon and have already touched up a few chips in the paintwork, put on new wheel trims, vacuumed and generally cleaned up the interior and cleared out the boot (trunk). I washed it at the weekend and have taken photos ready for the ad. I don't want to advertise it too soon though or I'll end up without a car for a few weeks. I just hope it goes for a decent price!

Procrastinating

I should really be working on my project proposal right now, but I'm feeling really demotivated. It's for the part-time psychology course I'm doing at the moment and it will count towards my overall grade. Trouble is, this proposal will form the basis for the work I will be doing at summer school for a week at the end of July and that will form the basis for assignment number 5, which will also count towards my end grade. I have to submit my project proposal by Tuesday 3 June and I only have a very basic idea of the area I want to do my project in. I haven't really thought much about the design or anything else at all and I haven't started filling in the proposal form yet. I'm really feeling the heat now. I filled in this survey to further put off actually doing any work.

What is your weapon of choice?	My wit! I fight with my brain, rather than my fists.

I managed to finish my assignment and it has been sent, so it's a great relief, even if I'm not that confident about it. The extra work it took means I'm two days behind schedule with my studying now, but I'm going to spend my lunch breaks at work on it and hopefully that'll allow me to catch up. I've also got to finish my upcoming Law & Order: Special Victims Unit fanlisting, which I want to be perfect. It means so much to me, so I have a few things still to do, but it should be ok.

Two decades

It was my 20th birthday yesterday. I'm rather glad I no longer have the suffix "teen" on my age. Anyway, I had a good day. I booked the day off work a while ago and so I spent it watching L&O:SVU DVDs and shopping. Not that I got anything... but I had a good look around. I'm not that keen on shopping generally. It was a nice, relaxing day though and nice to not be at work. :)

The weather has taken a wintery turn lately. How depressing it is. I don't mind cold weather... it's dull, rainy, grey days I don't like. They make me feel tired. Work is still slow at the moment too, so it makes me feel more tired.

1. Who is your favorite character from #2?
It's a tie between Sara Sidle and Gil Grissom. They're both really unique characters and I relate to them more than the others.

2. Who is your least favorite character from #4?
Tough! Casey Novak, I suppose, because she doesn't hit me in the same way the others do... and she's a latecomer. However, I still think she's great. I think they're all great!

3. What would a crossover between #1 and #5 include?
Well, they're both set in New York City, so it'd have to be in NY. I think they'd solve big cases together. Andy would be really anti the whole forensics thing, but the CSI:NY gang would change his tune over time and make him learn a thing or two about police work that he previously dismissed. It'd be funny watching him be so dismissive about the way forensics can help.

4. Who is your favorite ship from #6?
House/Wilson... not in a romantic sense. The way they act towards each other is just so funny, but it's also cool the way that Wilson understands House.

5. If you were to set one person from #3 and one person from #6 on a blind date, who would they be?
I really don't know.

6. If you could meet one person from #4 and spend the day with them, who would it be, and what would you do?
Mariska Hargitay/Olivia Benson. We'd go out for lunch, talk etc. I think she'd be really interesting.

I'd like the whole gang solving cases together more. At least, different pairs working together, rather than the same pairings all the time.

I haven't been watching NYPD Blue for long, but I like the relationship between Andy and John (Clark). They get on well and they're great friends. It's lovely how John has a kind of father figure too, since he seems a little estranged from his dad.

It'd be Mac, but that's tough.

10. If you could change the title characters' order in the credits for #4, what order would you choose?
Olivia'd be first, then Elliot, John, Fin, Casey and Don.

Another female doctor in House's team. Doesn't matter what age, but someone who stands up to House and who is really clever in many ways. Someone who can add humour in a different way to House would be nice too.

One favourite episode?? I have too many I love!

13. If you could kill off one of the characters of #1, who would it be and how would you do it?
I would kill Hawkes off. Since he's become a CSI, I find him annoying. He was so much better as an ME. It'd just be something simple... traffic accident or something. Wouldn't want to make a big thing of it.

Well, seeing as they're both set in New York, I guess it'd have to be New York! More specifically though, I'd prefer to see the squad of the Law & Order gang and the courthouse.

How many fanlistings do you join?
I've joined loads... I think nearly 1,000. I don't join them so much now, but I do join any new ones that are advertised at TFL Boards, and the odd one here and there. I don't really go on "joining sprees" anymore, unless I'm uber-bored. I usually find something more productive to do than go on FL joining sprees now... like work on my own fanlistings. ;)

Which is your newest fanlisting?
The last fanlisting I made was for Pink Floyd. I was so happy to get approved for that fanlisting! In terms of newest approved... I recently got approved for a CSI episode I love.

Bright Colours. I opened it on May 11, 2003.

The fanlisting with the most members is T-Shirts, which currently has 449 members. I'm not sure which fanlisting is the fastest growing.

Christmas & Icons

Christmas day was lovely. =) I just watched movies, played board games and relaxed all day. I didn't even hardly touch the computer. *shock* ;) Anyway, it was good to get away from the computer/internet for a day and spend some proper time with my family, which we don't really do much. In terms of Christmas gifts, I got £50 from my parents and a puzzle and £10 from a friend of our family. I spent the £10 on a domain for my Deanne Bray Fanlisting, and I'm going to put the rest in savings. :D I'm currently working on revamping my Deanne Bray Fanlisting completely, and when that's done, that's when I'll get the domain up for it. Until then, the domain is going to remain secret. ;)

Anyway, I've got another batch of icons done for the icons100 challenge. I got a few done today, and I did a couple on Christmas Eve, so there's 10 to post today altogether. :D

Ok, firstly, I've made 8 new icons towards the icons100 challenge. I'm now a bit behind my schedule for that, but hopefully I'll still be able to finish on time. Credits are in the link to the rest, as always.

Secondly, I've been having some major script problems with my fanlistings. Turns out it was caused by the fact that my hosting company turned register_globals off on the server, which all the scripts I depend on for management of my fanlistings' member lists, and my joined fanlistings need to work, which caused me a bit of a headache. I do understand that having this register_globals on is a security risk though, so I decided to just change to a new script. I'm now using Enthusiast 3, and while I found it a little complicated to install, I think overall, it will save me a lot of time and effort. :) Unfortunately, because I've put all my effort into converting to Enth the past 2-3 days, it does mean I've had less time to catch up on my icon making challenge (see above) and less time to make gifts for my TFL Message Board Secret Santa person. *le sigh* I'll get it all done soon enough.

The third thing I would like to mention in this entry, is that I spent some time last week sorting out my DeviantArt gallery. I deleted the less good stuff and put better descriptions on the ones I've kept up. I also dug through all my computer files and found some old photos on there that I hadn't put in my gallery, so I fixed that. ^_^

Anyway, I think I covered everything there. This has turned out to be a pretty long post... oops. Oh well. And now... I think I shall be getting myself some sleep. :D

I signed up to do the icons100 community challenge, as I'm feeling quite creative and I want to make a load of icons as part of my Deanne Bray fanlisting anyway. The idea is to create 100 icons in ten weeks.

Anyway, I've created my first batch. I've done 3 based on themes and 10 of my own choice. Credits for brushes and such are given on the "View the rest" page. If you use any of them, please give credit to my journal or my domain. :)

I created these icons for the icons100 community. The idea is to create 50 icons based around the given themes (one per theme), and 50 of your own free choice, all for your chosen subject. The subject in this case is the TV series, "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye".

Finally got a journal

Okay, I've finally signed up for a LiveJournal. I'd been planning to do this for sometime, but now I've actually gotten around to it. :) I haven't kept a blog for about a year, so it should be interesting to have one again. I'm not really exactly sure what kinds of things I'm going to write down here yet, so we'll just have to see. ;)
